Dan Holland, Partner Emeritus and Venture Advisor

Dan has over 30 years of experience in the venture capital industry. Prior to the formation of Flagship, he served as Senior Advisor for OneLiberty Ventures, a predecessor firm to Flagship Ventures. Dan has been a venture capitalist since he joined American Research and Development in 1969. His personal start-up experience includes the founding of Massachusetts Capital Research Corporation (MCRC) in 1978 and the co-founding of Morgan, Holland Ventures in 1982. Dan was also a driving force in the transition of Morgan, Holland to OneLiberty, and served as a General Partner in its first fund. He maintains an ongoing affiliation with MIT, where he completed undergraduate studies and, after earning his MBA from Harvard Business School, served as an Industrial Liaison Officer. During his career, Dan has been involved with investments in over 125 companies across a variety of industries and in many capacities, including taking companies public, managing explosive growth, and salvaging troubled situations. He is a past President of the New England Venture Capital Association and a recognized industry figure.

Dan is presently a Director of DebtExchange. In addition, he serves as a Board Director of Vista Medical Technologies (Nasdaq:VMTI), a medical device company.
