Ellacoya Networks Appoints Gerald Wesel Chairman of the Board
Merrimack, NH - December 9, 2003 - Ellacoya Networks, Inc., a leading provider of IP service management technology for broadband networks, today announced it has appointed Gerald Wesel as Chairman of the Board. Wesel will also be overseeing day-to-day operations for Ellacoya Networks following CEO Ron Sege's resignation and planned relocation to the West coast for personal reasons. The company's leadership will transition to Wesel immediately.
"Ron Sege has made a tremendous contribution to the company, leading Ellacoya to its strong leadership position in the emerging application-aware networking market. "At the same time, we are pleased that Jerry Wesel will be aggressively moving the company and its vision forward. His experience with broadband service providers and in bringing products to market in volume production and distribution will serve Ellacoya well in the next phase of its growth."
Gerald Wesel is currently Chairman of the Board at Orthogon Systems, an innovative provider of non-line-of-sight wireless technology. Before that, Wesel was CEO of Crescent Networks, a developer of a next generation edge routing system for carriers, where he was responsible for all operations and for successfully raising over $60 million in venture funding. Prior to Crescent, he was Founder and Vice President at Agile Networks, an intelligent data switching company, where he engineered the strategic partnership that resulted in Lucent Technologies' acquisition of Agile Networks in1996, Lucent's first ever acquisition. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science from Boston University and an MBA from Babson College.
