Tira Wireless to provide Java apps for AT&T Wireless

TORONTO - Tira Wireless signed an agreement with AT&T Wireless Services Inc. to provide a broad range of downloadable Java applications for the carrier's mMode subscribers.
"AT&T Wireless has been a pioneer in the mobile data services market with mMode, which was introduced to provide mobile subscribers with a service that takes them beyond the realm of voice communications," said Tony Davis, founder and chief executive officer of Tira Wireless. "Tira Wireless is unique in its offering because of the breadth of applications we provide to carriers."
Tira Wireless is a privately held company funded by Brightspark Ventures of Toronto and Flagship Ventures of Cambridge.
