Revivio Named Investors' Choice Award Winner at Dow Jones Newswires' Datacenter Ventures Conference
Lexington, MA - September 30, 2004 - RevivioŽ, Inc., the leader in continuous data protection, today announced that it was named an Investors' Choice Award winner at this year's Datacenter Ventures conference. The award, given to just ten of the companies that had presented, was announced at the conclusion of the event by Richard A. Shaffer, Editor-in-Chief of VentureWire. It signified those companies believed most likely to succeed.
"The Investor's Choice winners show strong potential to take advantage of emerging opportunities in the corporate datacenter market," explained Shaffer during the award ceremony.
The event's focus was on strategies that can generate revenue and profits in today's market environment and on the technologies, services and products that will enable businesses to maximize the value of their IT budget.
Paul Lewis, chief executive officer of Revivio, presented an introduction to Revivio and discussed how the company's Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology allows customers to easily restore information and applications in the event of a data loss, corruption or disaster in just seconds, versus the hours, days or even weeks it would take with competing technologies.
"We are honored to receive the Investors' Choice Award which is a testament to the strength of our business strategy, as well as our technology's unparalleled capability to help enterprise customers protect vital corporate information, applications and ultimately their businesses," said Lewis.
Mr. Lewis' presentation established that until Revivio's Continuous Protection System there was no clear alternative to the complex and unreliable process of making, managing and storing single-point-in-time copies (i.e., SPIT copies). He reviewed traditional technologies such as backup/restore, snapshot and frozen mirrors and explained why they all fail to meet the business need for rapid and reliable recovery at a fair and reasonable cost. The talk illustrated Revivio's technology and its ability to add time as a dimension of data storage, allowing easy and instant access to data at infinitely variable points in time to provide the most cost effective solution available on the market today for the protection of critical corporate information and applications.
