NetIQ Licenses Automated Thresholding Software from Netuitive

Netuitive Self-Learning Software Chosen for Key Service Management Capability

Reston, VA – September 20, 2004 – Netuitive, Inc., a leader in real-time analysis and decision automation software, today announced that NetIQ, (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of Systems and Security Management and Web Analytics solutions, has licensed Netuitive SI which will be branded as NetIQ AppManager Performance Profiler. The NetIQ product relies on Netuitive's patented real-time analysis engine to enable automated threshold administration and to deliver Trusted Alarms™, the industry's most accurate and reliable indicators of impending performance degradation. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"The Netuitive SI technology provides NetIQ a strategic advantage to our overall service management solution," said David Pann, vice president of Product Management and Marketing for the Systems Management products at NetIQ. "Integrating Netuitive SI into our AppManager Suite, will enable our customers to gain improved service levels and reduced operational costs and take a more proactive approach to managing performance."

Netuitive SI provides a breakthrough threshold automation solution to maximize the value of AppManager deployments, allowing IT administrators to spend far less time prioritizing alarms and manually modifying alerting thresholds. By self-learning and continuously profiling the changing characteristics of a server environment, Netuitive SI identifies abnormal conditions and sends information-rich Trusted Alarms to the AppManager console before they turn into service-impacting problems. Netuitive Trusted Alarms help NetIQ customers with root cause analysis and provide recommendations on how problems can be corrected, allowing IT personnel to work more efficiently and productively.

This licensing agreement represents an expansion of Netuitive's existing partnership with NetIQ and strengthens the relationship between the two organizations. Since its inception, Netuitive has offered its analytics engine for NetIQ AppManager to provide a value add to their AppManager deployments.
"Sophisticated data correlation and decision automation are required for performance management to move to the next level. NetIQ is staking-out a leadership position in the industry," said Nicola Sanna, president and chief executive for Netuitive, Inc. "This partnership represents a milestone for Netuitive as we establish ourselves as the leading platform for dynamic thresholding and automated analysis."

"The ability to set dynamic thresholds is truly what organizations need and, in fact, automated performance management capabilities such as dynamic thresholding will become commonplace by 2006," said Al Liebl, senior program director at META. "If seeking a new performance monitoring product, IT organizations should consider those that offer dynamic thresholds capable of adapting to changing system behavior."
