Chantry Networks challenges financial services firms to capitalize on the benefits of wireless solutions
NEW YORK - AUGUST 5, 2003 - Chantry Networks, the provider of the world's first routed wireless LAN solution will detail the benefits of wireless architectures in financial services organizations today at the Wall Street Technology Association (www.wsta.org) seminar on deploying wireless technologies. Chantry Networks' director of technical marketing, Peter Livingstone, will address the group. Chantry's unique routed architecture provides significant advantages in scalability, virtualization and availability over all of the competing, switch-based technologies.
"Wall Street is the epitome of fast-paced, dynamic business," commented Peter Livingstone, director of technical marketing, Chantry Networks. "The advantages of wireless access - moving information anytime, from any place - is a natural for financial services firms. "The challenge, though, is how to implement a solution that aligns the needs of Financial Services firms with their corporate IT goals and mandates." Our discussion today will present solutions for meeting the performance and availability needs of end users, while conforming with technology requirements for scalability, manageability and low total cost of ownership."
"Financial services firms adopting wireless technologies have specific requirements for security, scalability and ease of management," said Peter N. Vicars, CEO, Chantry Networks. "Peter Livingstone will help the seminar attendees to understand how to deploy wireless networks that offer the best combination of features, with an eye towards growing with the evolution of corporate requirements."
Livingstone will present an overview of WLAN architectures at 11:15am at Southgate Tower Suite Hotel, 371 7th Ave., New York. His overview will highlight the requirements of a successful WLAN implementation: the best combination of coverage, capacity, management and growth potential. Additionally, Livingstone will discuss strategies for deploying wireless networks while leveraging - not replacing - existing wired networks.
Livingstone has primary responsibility for the plan and design of WLAN solutions optimized for Chantry's customers' technical, operational and business environment. Prior to joining Chantry, Livingstone was the lead system engineer for Lucent's IP Centrex offering, following Lucent's acquisition of SpringTide Networks. Livingstone was also the director of corporate systems engineering at Indus River Networks, where he was instrumental in rolling out the company's enterprise-scale VPN solution.
