Chantry Networks™ expands board, appoints two new members
Pascoe and Shapiro Appointments Add More than 50 Years of Experience in Technology Industries and Management to ChantryÕs Board of Directors

BOSTON - July 7, 2003 - Chantry Networks today announced the appointment of Michael Pascoe and Professor Benson P. Shapiro to its board of directors, effective immediately. Shapiro and Pascoe join the Chantry senior management team and the three existing board members, Per Suneby, venture partner and executive-in-residence of Flagship Ventures, Ted Anderson, senior vice-president of Ventures West, and Claude Haw, founder, Venture Coaches, in determining and implementing the strategic direction of the company. Chantry Networks is the provider of the BeaconWorks™ family of wireless LAN (WLAN) products - the world's first routed WLAN solution.

Mr. Pascoe has extensive management and board experience. He is chairman of the board of Anda Networks, a member of Meriton Networks' board, and the technical advisory board of Atreus Communications. He has over 25 years experience in the field of telecommunications networking, including PairGain Technologies as president and CEO, (ADC Telecommunication acquired PairGain Technologies in 2001). In addition, he was president of Newbridge Networks and has held senior positions at Nortel, Rockwell Telecom and Mitel.

Professor Shapiro is a well-known authority on marketing strategy and sales management with particular interests in pricing, product line planning, and marketing organization. He is also the Malcolm P. McNair Professor of Marketing Emeritus at the Harvard Business School where he taught full-time from 1970 to 1997. He continues to teach there in several executive programs. Currently, Professor Shapiro concentrates his professional time on consulting, speeches, boards of directors, and writing.
