Ellacoya Networks and Sumitomo Corporation partner in Japan
Merrimack, NH - June 25, 2003 -- Ellacoya Networks, Inc., an innovative company providing IP service control technology for broadband networks, today announced that Sumisho Electronics Co., Ltd. (Subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation) will distribute its IP Service Control System in Japan. This follows a recent equity investment in Ellacoya by Sumitomo and its affiliate Presidio Venture Partners. Ellacoya Networks and Sumisho Electronics are currently managing deployments of the platform throughout Japan, including production deployment at @NetHome, a leading broadband operator.

Sumisho Electronics will distribute the Ellacoya IP Service Control System, consisting of the 16000 and 4000 series switches as well as its Service Logic Software. The System provides visibility into application and subscriber usage patterns, and then allows operators to manage network resources, control network abuse, introduce flexible service plans and provide premium transport of content and services such as music, video and gaming. Sumitomo will also provide marketing resources for the System as well as first- and second-line technical support to broadband operators in Japan.
