Genstruct, Inc. Names Jeffrey D Thomas, M. D., Ph.D. as CSO and Navin Chandra, ScD as CTO

Cambridge, MA - March 14, 2002 - Genstruct, Inc. announced today that it has appointed Jeffrey D. Thomas, M.D., Ph.D. as its Chief Scientific Officer and Navin Chandra, ScD as its Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Thomas and Dr. Chandra will team up with Eric Neumann, Ph.D., Scientific Founder and Chief Bioinformatics Consultant, to lead the scientific and technology development and deployment of the company's innovative knowledge assembly and discovery connections approach. They will also collaborate closely with Genstruct's customers to further the development and integration of the company's proprietary Knowledge Assembly(TM) environment across a range of drug discovery and development applications.

Dr. Thomas has over 17 years of experience in life sciences and pharmaceutical research. He joins Genstruct from Parke-Davis/Warner-Lambert and Pfizer, where he was Director of Genomics and Bioinformatics. He also served on the joint management committees for Pfizer's collaborations with Metabolex, Compugen, Scimagix and Inpharmatica. Prior to Pfizer, he was a member of Millennium Pharmaceuticals' Genomics group, where he established the high-throughput genotyping group and led the human diabetes genetics program. Dr. Thomas recently chaired the 2001 Gordon Conference on inBioinformatics: From Inference to Predictive Modelsli.

Dr. Chandra has 17 years of experience as a technologist and entrepreneur. He joins Genstruct from NovaSpike, a startup he founded to address the pharmaceutical and financial markets. Previously, Dr. Chandra was with Perot Systems Corporation as V.P. of Technology of its "Time0" business unit. At Perot Systems, Navin developed patented technology for information integration - which was successfully used to integrate hundreds of information sources. Prior to his business career, Navin was on the faculty at Carnegie Mellon University's school of computer science for seven years, where he gained worldwide recognition for his scientific research in the area of product design, knowledge representation and case-based reasoning.
