Morphotek Names Mary Callan, Ph.D. Vice President, Business Development


Exton, PA - February 5, 2003 - Morphotek Inc. announced today the appointment of Mary Callan, Ph.D., to the position of Vice President of Business Development.

Prior to joining Morphotek, Dr. Callan was Director of Business Development at Exelixis, Inc., a leading genomics based drug discovery company. Preceding her tenure at Exelixis, Dr. Callan was head of Business Development at Large Scale Biology Corporation (LSBC), where she was a key member of the management team responsible for the company's successful $96 million public offering. During this time Dr. Callan was responsible for business development across all corporate functions, including pharmaceuticals, genomics, proteomics, and biomanufacturing. She was also responsible for corporate communications and investor relations during LSBC's public offering. Dr. Callan began her career in a research position at BASF Corporation in the U.S., enjoying positions of increased responsibility and eventually being promoted to a global position in business development at headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
