Maptuit Chosen by Networkcar™ and interLink Logistics® to Enhance Asset Tracking

Maptuit, a leading provider of location-based services (LBS) for the consumer and transportation markets, today announced Networkcar and interLink Logistics have chosen to license Maptuit Server™ to enhance their asset tracking services. Using Maptuit Server, these asset tracking companies are able to provide their customers with the ability to track their valuable assets throughout the North American road network, in either a digital map or web-based report.
Networkcar and interlink Logistics are using Maptuit Server to empower their customers with sophisticated solutions to track, manage, and report on the locations of their assets in real time. Networkcar and interlink Logistics outfit their customers with embedded tracking technology that combines GPS-based location determining with a wireless transmitter. As the asset moves about, it periodically transmits its geographic coordinates back to the tracking company. These coordinates are then passed to Maptuit Server which uses a process called reverse geocoding to pinpoint the location of the asset to the nearest street address. This information can then be overlaid on digital maps to show the asset's current location, and the places that asset has been over time. With hundreds of thousands of vehicles and trailers now deployed with asset tracking devices, customers of Networkcar and interLink Logistics are receiving the information they need to monitor their assets at all times.
