Resolvyx Pharmaceuticals is developing an entirely new class of medicines called Resolvins. Resolvins are naturally-occurring, small molecule lipid mediators with the potential to treat a wide range of inflammatory diseases. Unlike most anti-inflammatory drugs which suppress the body's inflammatory response, Resolvins work by activating the body's own mechanisms for shutting off, or resolving, inflammation. Pre-clinical research demonstrates that Resolvins have significant potential to treat auto-immune diseases (like crohn's disease, rheumatoid arthritis and psorisasis), allergic diseases (like asthma) and chronic inflammatory diseases (like atherosclerosis, degenerative retinal diseases and chronic dry eye).
