BIND (BioIntegrated NanoDelivery) Biosciences was formed in 2006 by the scientific co-founders Bob Langer and Omid Farokhzad. The company’s core technologies are compositions and methods to engineer nanoparticles that selectively bind a target cell type or tissue, become internalized, and subsequently release their drug payload directly within the cell. Particles engineered with these attributes offer a useful way for reducing systemic exposure during treatments while enhancing the concentration of drug where it is needed. Glenn Batchelder, former SVP Operations at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, is CEO. Flagship Managing Partner Noubar Afeyan is on the Board, and Partner Doug Levinson is an observer.
