Mascoma Corporation is a cellulosic biomass-to-ethanol company founded in 2006. As part of its two-pronged strategy of development and deployment, Mascoma will aggressively pursue the development of advanced cellulosic ethanol technologies based initially on work developed in Lee Lynd’s labs at Dartmouth College. Its first deployment activity will focus on a strategic opportunity for conversion of waste paper sludge to ethanol, with construction of the company’s first commercial cellulosic ethanol plant targeted for 2007.
